Merthyr Tydfil – Former YMCA – Offices up to 8,730 sq ft

The former YMCA in Merthyr Tydfil is planned to undergo a major transformation to create up to 8,730 sq ft of modern office space available to let either as a whole or potentially in smaller suites.  The original building is Grade II Listed and occupies an elevated position overlooking the town at the northern end of High Street on Pontmorlais West.  It is planned that the building will be comprehensively redeveloped and refurbished by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council with Heritage Lottery funding and anticipated that the building will be completed and ready for occupation in July 2021.

Further information on this exciting office opportunity is provided below and any interested parties are invited to contact us to discuss their specific requirements in more detail.

Planning permission and Listed Building Consent have been granted for the conversion of the building.  Office accommodation will be over 5 principal floors and served by a passenger lift.  Accommodation is arranged in a mix of open plan areas totalling approximately 8,730 sq ft (IMPS-3) net internal floor area.

Merthyr Tydfil has experienced significant economic growth over the last 15 years with major redevelopment projects completed successfully including new offices at Rhydycar for EE, Welsh Government and the popular Orbit Centre multi-let office building.  In the town centre, there are a number of historic building refurbishments including Redhouse, a multi-use centre for the arts and creative industries and at Cyfarthfa, the retail park has been very successful and together with the Leisure Village at Rhydycar have hugely increased the commercial activity in the town drawing footfall from the wider surrounding region.
